Recently attended the Toronto Mid-Town Record Show at Mount Pleasant & Davisville here in Toronto, and though I opted out of the early bird shopping frenzy I came out with some great new finds. Among some of those are Hugh LeCaine's "Compositions & Demonstrations 1948 - 1972.
This image was borrowed from the net... my scanner is down! This is an album of recordings by a Canadian pioneer of electronic music, and I can't listen to it right now either because it is still sealed! So check out the first synth ever I'll have to open it sooner or later.
I also picked up Action & Suspense form the Spectrum Mood Library series, #4. It is a little beat up, but it's better than not having it at all! Here is a link to an awesome track that is not on this record but gives you an idea what I am hearing right now...
Some more great stuff includes Jean Billboard's Galaxy Flash, a Yamaha electone synthesizer demonstration record that is like the Magic Organ in space... And is apparently played by Edgar Schlepper who is also Ed Vanguard who played in Warning, an amazing dark electro band from 1982 here is a link to WARNING
Also found This Konstruktivists album from 1985, here is a sample
I have plenty of new stock and am selling alot of cosmic and synth records at my weekly Saturday sales at 444-3 Dufferin Street, come and visit from 12 - 6pm, every Saturday starting June 9th.

Panorama Electronique

Attended Flipside record sale today at Gladstone Hotel. Some of the records I found are: Soft Verdict - for Amusement Only, click here for a sample... this album was made in 1980, using pinball machines to create minimal electronic soundscapes. Best minimal electronic album to add to my collection since Einzelganger. Also extremely rare & valuable since there are no copies anywhere on the www.
My scanner is down so images rely on whats available on the www. Other cool stuff I found is Group W, Die Form, The Droids - Starpeace, Norma Beecroft & Panorama electronique on Limelight records 1960's.
I also sold alot of great titles including: Goblin - Suspiria soundtrack on Attic records, George Harrison - Electronic Sounds on Zapple records, Tim Blake - Crystal Machine, Digital Emotion, Kraftwerk, Iggy Pop...etc
Plenty of chances to pick up great records when I open up LP's LPs on 444 Dufferin, vist me there at #3 upstairs. Saturdays between 12 - 6. Up & running starting this Saturday may 12th.
